The number of smallholding farms is dropping, while large factory farms increase. FarmTrust aims to help smallholding farms reach a climate and welfare conscious consumer base. Allowing them to continue to care for the land and remain an integral part of their community and the fight against climate change.
The Need
Small, family-owned farms are becoming extinct as more and more land is bought up (or sold to) large corporations or removed from food production.

Larger corporations, while able to meet a need for easily accessible and cheap protein, are influenced by profit margins and shareholders far removed from the local community. The result is the modern factory farm machine that is so detrimental to animal welfare and the environment. It also means very little of the money a consumer pays in the supermarket goes to the farmer.
